Yeah, but will the Church pay for it?

Last week, Republican candidate Rick Santorum’s wealthy backer – name sounds like Frosty Freeze – fondly reminisced about the good ol’ days when contraception was cheap – “gals” just held a Bayer aspirin “between their knees.” …

Santorum himself has been all over TV talking about “the dangers of contraception in this country. It’s not okay. It’s a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be.”

Next thing you know Vanity Fair investigates chastity belt sales:

“The underlying tenor of this debate begs a natural question: what about chastity belts? Are there pockets of America where they’re still in use? If so, where you can buy them? (Outside of a Medieval Times gift shop, that is.) A quick, eye-opening search revealed that Amazon offers a couple dozen different models in its Health & Personal Care store, while eBay offers more than 200.”

Ooo~er .. Amazon shows leather whips and body jewelry instead of crosses and bibles .. but then, maybe Santorum supporters are kinkier than I give them credit for.

How clever of the GOP to turn a “freedom of religion” debate into a birth control debate .. imagine, women being dragged back to the 1950′s. The laughter you hear is coming from the White House.

Seriously .. the Republican party has dug in and come up with a platform — For God, For guns, Against Birth Control, Against Abortion and Against Taxes. That’s what endless hours of debating and zillions of dollars of campaign financing have given them?

This is the kind of crap that a party which lacks new ideas has to resort to because they have nothing else to say. America will Darwin itself into extinction if it follows these religious zealots.

If it takes a national election to finally show the true colors of these intolerant fundamentalist Tea Party crazies .. well, so be it.

I personally know women of both parties who can’t wait to get to the polls to kick these backward anti-women idiots out.

About those chastity belts .. better let the Church harness their clergy with them .. it would really reduce the legal fees and settlements.
